Prepare yourself for the auction! Here you go the list of most important terms used during auctions:
Auction Site- means any premises from where the auction is conducted
Auctioneer- Denis A. Barrett Auctioneers and Property Consultants, its staff, representatives , any person or persons for the time being authorised by the Auctioneer to have the conduct of the auction
Bidder- means any person who has registered with the Auctioneer and has been issued with a Bidding Number for an Auction
Bidding Number- means the unique bidding number assigned to the Bidder upon registration with the Auctioneer for an Auction
Commission- means the percentage payment as detailed in Terms and Conditions of an auction (for Link Auction it is 10% plus VAT) due by the Purchaser to the Auctioneer upon the sale of any Lots.
Hammer Price- means the highest bid for any Lot accepted by the Auctioneer at an Auction
Lot- means any individual single part of a consignment put up for Auction by the Auctioneer
Purchaser- means the highest Bidder for any Lot
Purchase Price- means the sum total of the Hammer Price plus VAT and the Commision plus VAT
Vendor- means the seller of any Lot
Reserved Auction- the vendor has right not to sell a Lot below certain price (e.g. He/She may reserved not to sell a Lot if the highest bidding price for a certain Lot(s) is less than €5 )
Non- reserved Auction – there is no minimum price set for a Lot to be sell
REMEBER: read the terms and conditions before registering as a Bidder. Don’t forget to add commission and VAT charge to the Hammer Price while bidding.
