Denis Barrett - MIPAV, MNAA, MIREF

Managing Director / Head Auctioneer:

Denis holds the position of Managing Director and specializes in the Sales and Auctions of the firm. He recently represented Ireland in the 2009 World International Champion Auctioneers Competition.

Denis has been a practicing Auctioneer and Valuer since 1997. Denis has studied in Ireland and in America. He holds a Diploma from the IPAV (Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers) in Ireland and a Certificate Auctioneer from the Continental Auctioneer School of Auctioneering in the State of Minnesota America. Denis recently returned from partaking in a refresher course on the latest Selling & Marketing Techniques at the World College of Auctioneering, in Mason City, Iowa, America thus ensuring that he is always offering his clients the latest innovative services. He is currently studying on a part time basis an MBA course in Business at University College Cork

Over the years, Denis has gained a vast amount of experience in the international property market in England, Germany, and America but returned to Ireland where he worked with GVM auctioneers in both their Limerick and Cork Offices. In 2003, Denis was involved in the establishment of the property consultants business Barrett Cahill that in 2009 started trading as Denis A Barrett Property Consultants.

Laura joined the company in 2006. She earned her BSc (Hons) in Real Estate of standing (Management & Valuation) from the University of West of England. Laura is a Member of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers, (IPAV). Over the past, number of years Laura has gained enormous experience in all aspects of the property market so whatever your property needs are she will always be on hand to give a valuable and professional service.

Laura also successfully heads up and manages the letting department, and has gained a vast amount of experience both here and abroad. Laura is very customer focused, believes in honesty, hard work, and above all is willing to go that extra mile for  someone.

Pat has been working with Denis A Barrett Property Consultants since 2006. Pat joined the company as a Senior Valuer and Commercial Negotiator. With over 30 years experience in the property industry, Pat is a valued part of the team. Pat spent the first part of his career in the construction and property industry in Scotland. He was involved in some notable projects such as the building of Edinburgh Airport, St. James Square, and Sterling Town Centre. Having gained a comprehensive and professional understanding of the construction and property industry in the UK, Pat sought new challenges and returned to Ireland.

In 1982, he joined Carey Sheehan Auctioneers, in Cork. Pat then went on to form one-half of the partnership, which established Carey Collins and enjoyed many years of success. After a short time in semi-retirement, he decided to return to the job he knows and loves and joined Denis A Barrett Property Consultants, bringing with him extensive knowledge and experience. He is a member of A.M.I.E.T.

West Cork Representative: Ned McCarthy

Ned works as our Agricultural & Property Sales Representative for the West Cork Region. His expertise ranges from dairy farming, property management, and agriculture. Ned studied Property Management in Reading University in the UK.
Having 24 years experience with a Diploma in Agriculture, Ned has been involved with the International Livestock Genetics by participating in the development of mutually successful genetics programs
